Essay On The India of my dream In English
We generally dream only when we are asleep. But I like to dream when I am awake as well, and then I dream about how I would like my country to be. The India of my dreams is an India where everybody has sufficient food, clothing and shelter.
There will be no one who goes to bed hungry, and there will be no homeless people. There will be no slums, no street children and no beggars. Everyone will be employed, have a roof over his head and at least two square meals per day.
The India of my dreams is a clean and green India. Pollution will be unheard of; we will all be able to breathe in clean air and drink pure water. Man and nature will co-exist peacefully; all forests will be reserves, and there will be no species that is endangered.
There will be no 'paan' stains at the corners of staircases, and no garbage thrown out of windows. The drainage systems will work regularly, and there will be no overflowing gutters. My country will all be clean and beautiful.
In the India of my dreams, there will be no conflicts in the name of religion, region, caste or creed and no communal riots. The right to equality, given by our Constitution, will be strictly enforced. My dream country will be truly secular, and everyone will be allowed to pray to his own God and follow his own religion.
Equal opportunities will be given to all to develop their potential. Those who are weak and ailing will be protected by those who are strong and healthy. Politicians, and others in power, will work selflessly, for the betterment and economic progress of our country.
There will be no corruption, and all work will be done efficiently and smoothly, without compulsion or inducement like bribe. Social evils like child marriages, sati, and dowry will be a thing of the past. And last but not least, the India of my dreams will be one where the population is half of what it is now. Only then will we be able to preserve our resources and fruits of development will reach everybody.
I know that these are all my dreams, and these dreams are not going to come true during my lifetime. But I will make an effort, and contribute at least a little, to see that I am nearer to the India of my dreams.
