write a paragraph that describes the path that one drop of water takes as it moves through the water cycle. in your paragraph, include at least two changes in the form of water.
A single drop of water embarks on an intricate journey as it participates in the perpetual dance of the water cycle. It all begins when the sun's radiant energy bestows warmth upon the Earth's surface, causing our drop of water to evaporate from a calm pond. Rising as a wisp of vapor, it joins the atmosphere, where it encounters cooler temperatures at higher altitudes.
At this point, it condenses into a tiny water droplet, forming a cloud. As the cloud grows denser and heavier, the drop combines with others, eventually becoming heavy enough to fall as precipitation. Our drop descends as rain, snow, or hail, touching down on the Earth's surface once more. It may infiltrate the soil, replenishing groundwater, or flow into streams and rivers, becoming part of the surface water network. Ultimately, it can make its way to the ocean, where it will be exposed to the sun's rays once more, continuing its cyclical voyage through the ever-changing forms of water in the environment.
